Hello stranger,
I'll try not to sound too informal but... YAY, I made today's post. I got too caught up in watching 'Gran Torino' (now we're watching 'Letters To Iwa Juku' or something) and I was scared that I'd feel too tired again to make this post. Fortunately we started the movie early and blah blah blah. Okay, right now, I'm feeling quite annoyed because I'm going to watch a movie with my friends this Wednesday ('Deathly Hollows Part 1') and it's going to be straight after my last exam. And yeah whatever you don't need to hear about my dilemma. I'm excited though, above it all. I just checked and found out that the movie's actual name is 'Letters From Iwo Jima'. Same thing.
Anyway, as silly as it sounds, today's topic is about a 'zombie apocalypse'. Sure, I could be talking about other and probably more 'important' apocalypses like the whole '2012' thing. But I don't believe in it. Not that I believe in a zombie apocalypse, but both incidents could be possible. I just find the possibility of a zombie apocalypse far more interesting than the 2012 bluff. Well to start off, do you believe in zombies? Zombies probably first made an appearance in the hit music video called 'Thriller' by the legend, 'Michael Jackson' (R.I.P.). After that there had been loads of zombie movies and what not. Take 'Resident Evil' for example. It's not only a movie, but also a video game. It was from this movie/video game that I developed my fear of zombies. Sure, zombies probably don't exist. But what do you know, Science does.
In 'Resident Evil', zombies existed through some kind of virus made in some genetic research place thing that infected and turned many people (even animals) into man-eating, mindless creatures. That's not a very accurate synopsis, but it was all very scientific to me which made me think of its great possibility in the future. Think of 'Thriller', the dead came back to life. Now that is probably beyond scientific basis. But then there's 'Frankenstein'. Not so impossible now, huh. I once read this article with five reasons for a possible zombie apocalypse. Apparently half of the world's population is infected by this thing that can turn them into 'zombie-like' species and don't even know it. It's called 'Toxoplasmosa Gondii'. It sounded pretty scary and convincing to me. But maybe it's not even real.
Aha but 'Google' proves it, Toxoplasmosa Gondii is in fact, real (from research). I mean if Google says so, it must be factual right?
Thinking of a zombie apocalypse is almost as scary as thinking of the world ending in 2012, which is certainly not going to happen. Personally I find the zombie apocalypse scarier. I mean if the world ended in 2012 (which it won't) I'm thinking it would be sort of an 'immediate death' as I should say, whereas with a zombie apocalypse, there's the whole 'hide and seek' kind of idea going on, unless you try to kill them like in the movies. Besides, would you want to be fed on slowly and bit by bit, you feeling each and every bite as the zombies feast on you? I didn't think so. I mean it's not like it's actually going to happen, it's just that there's a huge chance. No big deal. Science is great, maybe too great that it can actually make zombies real. Although, who would ever be mad enough to want to provoke such a thing? Mad scientists still exist these days, I think. Do they? Probably hiding in some secret laboratory somewhere in the mountains of some country in Asia. (First picture that came in my head.) Almost everything's possible these days. All we need now is the invention of 'time machines'.
For the record, I didn't write this post to scare anybody (though I highly doubt it did). I'm just trying to make another point, just like in all my other posts. By the way, here's a link to that article with reasons for a zombie apocalypse that I read: http://www.cracked.com/article_15643_5-scientific-reasons-zombie-apocalypse-could-actually-happen.html. I'd say the writer of that article was quite clever and somewhat witty. That's probably just me, though. On the other hand, if a zombie apocalypse did happen someday, I seriously wouldn't know what I'd do. Probably fly to somewhere where they have a super safe base. Let's just hope I don't get eaten in the process.
